The Ford Model T, which first appeared in the fall of 1908, came to revolutionize transportation than any invention in itself.

Henry Ford founded the Ford Motor Company in 1903 and the Model T Ford was not his first car on the road. However, during the 19 years of production of the Model T became in the most famous car Histroy, due to their fine workmanship, excellent materials, and especially its low price.

Ford Early Model T were produced in Detroit, Michigan in the Piquette Avenue plant. Henry Ford's stated intention was to produce the first car affordable to the masses. In fact, since its pricetag of $ 850 in 1908, Ford introduced the assembly, the mass production line at the end dropped the price below $ 300. In 1918, nearly half of cars on the roads of America were Ford Model T.

The advent of assembly lines to cut the average assembly time around 12 hours per car to about an hour and a half. The oft-repeated legend that Henry Ford Model T required all be painted black, with a practical basis, that particular black paint in the use of drying much faster than other sources, and therefore faster production. The use of interchangeable parts, not only accelerated the production, but reduces the cost of subsequent repair.

The typical model T seated five passengers, produces 20 horsepower in its 4-cylinder engine, reached a maximum speed of 45 mph, and ran on gasoline or ethanol. Fuel economy was 15 to 20 miles per gallon. Ethanol became outlawed during the prohibition and gasoline was very cheap, so all the alcohol and vehicle batteries disappeared from the scene.
The Model T was also known as the Flivver or Tin Lizzie. The original open passenger car models was soon joined by several minutes, and finally, small trucks. Designers included early Childe Wills Harry Love, Eugene Farkas, Joseph Galambos, Gus Degner and Peter Martin.

Most Model T had only two forward gears and reverse. Had back Conversely drives. The often struggle was essential because the initial location of the 10-gallon fuel tank was quite backwards and slightly lower than its front engine. On steep hills, the car often stop when the tank is not filled completely, leaving the driver to back up the hill in reverse, in order to maintain the flow fuel.

Model T were incredibly durable and reliable. Even after the introduction of electric starters (activated for selling at the Council floor), the hand-cranked magneto to be part of design as a back-up from the method.

The wooden spokes in spoke wheels with tires evolved metal tires.

The Model T was not the twentieth model manufactured by Ford, as the alphabet are given. But it was a refinement of a series of creations Ford earlier. Ironically, when production of the Model T, finally gave way to something new, called his new creation Ford Model A, saying it was a beginning totally new.

Model A, however, never achieved the same massive impact of his predecessor. More than 15 million Model T cars were finally made. This record was not surpassed until 1972 by the Volkswagen Beetle.
