Impact Automobile

If you cannot avoid an automobile accident, what is the best way to prepare for impact?

I have heard before that drunks sometimes come out better than the people they hit in accidents due to being relaxed. Can most injuries be attributed to tensing up or is would a certain amount of of bracing one’s self be beneficial (if one could even think clearly enough in that split second to make a conscious effort to hold their self in a certain position)? Thanks

Just try not to tense up. Virtually impossible unless you have extensive training. When the brain see a solid object coming at it the autonomic functions set in the the brain prepares the body by tensing it up. And that is because for millions of years all impacts on our bodies were low impact. Evolution did not take into account that we would be crashing into each other at speeds in excess of what gravity could produce.
Simply put, it’s better to be hit by something that you don’t see coming.
