Lowrider creations from the Barris brothers flourished into a lucrative business. George used his business sense to introduce lowriders to Hollywood which resulted in not only the use of lowriders in many well known films like High School Confidential, but also helped to becoming "the person" contact when Hollywood stars wanted to transform their personal vehicles into lowriders.

The lowrider artists original focused mainly on customizing Chevrolet cars because they were less expensive than vehicles from other manufacturers at the time. Today any brand, make, or model of vehicle is fair game to become a lowrider. The art of creating a lowrider has also evolved beyond of using heavy weights and chopping springs to the body near the earth. Modern lowriders feature hydraulics which not only raise and lower the car, but also they hop, and tilt from side to side.

According to today's standards, amendments to the Barris Brothers made famous with their business Kustoms of America seem rather minor. Lowrider today can function as main triple chrome accessories, gold plating, coating systems spectacular double-sided tubes, spotlights, and all wire wheel spinners to spectacular. The same pride that motivated the owners of horses to Mexico early to sacrifice their own needs in order to bring more luster to their horses, with modern units lowrider owners day to spend a small fortune to craft a vehicle that is a huge source of gratification.

Explosion of the early Mexican-American Sunday cruising to become the rap video stars and the way everything to show fresh with a car, lowriders have come a long way since its humble beginnings. At that time it only took a little effort and a little time to create a lowrider vehicle turn heads. Now, lowrider enthusiasts spend thousands and thousands of dollars over countless hours of body work and changes to create their show-stopping lowrider masterpieces.
