Is Toyota developing automobile engine variable displacement technology?

Will Toyota developing some kind of fuel-efficiency technology like Chrysler’s Multi-displacement-system,GM’s displacement on demand,and Honda’s variable cylinder management?
Does Toyota have any plan to offer engine variable displacement technology to US market?

They already win on the fuel economy and also I don’t know about how much Honda’s improves mileage but the Chrysler and GM’s stuff only improves mpg by 1-2 gallons. A very little saving.
