In Kentucky, the Department of Revenue uses the National Automobile Dealers Association’s clean trade-in value as of Jan. 1 to determine a vehicle’s assessed value. As Moellman discovered, the values for some sport utility vehicles, crossover utility vehicles and light-duty trucks have gone up this year.
