What is undercarriage damage on a vehicle?

I am here on a online auction, about to purchase a used vehicle. Saw an excellent automobile with the current bid of 2000dollars, but it listed its primary damage as “undercarriage.” I wanted to know exactly what type of damage is it a nd average repair cost (willing to spend 2000dollars on repairs). Also, is it worth buying a second hand car with such damage, is it even worth fixing?

Don’t touch it. You may end up spending a lot more on repairs and it will probably never drive right. There are plenty of bargains out there why take such a risk?
